So I’m going through thousands of photos of Fundi Bots in action over the years and it hits me how far we’ve managed to reach with such limited resources. We’ve had great supporters and cheerleaders along the way who have helped us get where we are.
These pictures in particular, taken on the 23rd March 2011 from Kira Secondary School are some of my fondest memories. It was one of the very first robotics presentations I made. I hadn’t event started Fundi Bots yet. Fundi Bots came about three months later.
The school had no electricity and the generator was limited to a few administrative offices, so we used an open classroom. The kids were the rowdiest I had ever spoken to and I had to kick about a quarter of them out, although they all came rushing back in when I demo-ed Nigel 5 though, filling up the entire classroom once again.
Good times. Good times.
This right here is the power of a dream.
