Fundi Bots is run on blood, sweat, tears, the joy on kids faces and the occasional electric shock.
However, we have some really cool people helping us out, and they help us keep going every single day. We’ll be updating this list as frequently as we receive donations and sponsorships.
Oysters and Pearls is an ongoing educational program inclusive of the blind with emphasis on teaching science, technology, engineering and math to students in Africa, primarily Uganda.
They are one of our biggest sponsors and they have facilitated two robotics training camps in Northern Uganda and have donated an immeasurable amount of books, equipment and other hardware. We are glad to be working closely with them.
SparkFun is an online retail store that sells the bits and pieces to make your electronics projects possible.
They were one of our earliest sponsors at a time when we were a one-man team reaching out to suppliers on the internet. Their continued support and discounts is the primary reason why our training photos are full of their awesome red boxes.
Cafe Sci is organisation which allows people to meet informally and discuss issues of science and technology. Through their schools program, students can meet and debate with science professionals. They are our main entry point into Ugandan schools
Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project works on behalf of HIV/AIDS orphans in rural Uganda to end systemic deprivation, poverty and hunger through a holistic approach to community development, education, and healthcare.
Nyaka generously furnished us with 10 laptop computers that we used in our very first Gulu Robotics camp. Right now, these laptops are a very integral part of our trainings, school outreach program and internal workshops.
Google offers the RISE Awards to support organizations around the world working hard to inspire the next generation of Computer Scientists – especially those that reach girls, underrepresented minorities, and students who face socio-economic barriers.
In 2012, we won a Google RISE grant that greatly helped launch our activities. We carried out our first training camp at Nabisunsa Girls schools and were able to purchase quite a bit of resources, which we still use to this day.
Node Six is a web solutions firm offering domain, email and hosting services with a strong focus on creating local content for Uganda.
They have been providing web hosting and email services for us since we launched Fundi Bots.
Elemental Edge is a Ugandan visual effects production house that produces interactive media, TV advertising, 3D and 2D animation and live action filming.
They have pretty much handled all our filming, editing and photography for the last two years.
